Greater swiss mountn dog rescue and adoption
A couple of months ago, I told you all about the Swiss Mountn Dog Rescue and my friend who works for the organization. Today, I want to tell you a bit more about how it works. It’s all so exciting!
If you are the parent of a rescue dog, you probably have some idea of what your life will be like when the time comes to adopt your own. For most of us, this will be an exciting, wonderful and heart-wrenching experience, to say the least. I was lucky. My friend who works for the organization had an excellent dog that needed a new home. I could pick her right up.
I’ve seen the first year with this rescue group up close. The first two dogs I took to the group had a rough start. One of them had severe dental disease and another had severe eye problems. Both dogs had a tough time finding homes. The organization had to deal with a large volume of adoption applications. The good news is that the two dogs have both been adopted and now have the most wonderful homes!
The organization has also brought in two puppies, one of whom is deaf, blind and needs heart surgery. The puppies were placed in loving homes as well.
One of the hardest things for an adoption organization to do is to place dogs that need extensive medical treatment. Many of these dogs are already sick when they are brought to the rescue, so it’s not like you can start to work on them immediately.
The good news is that the group has some amazing volunteers, including one who does heart surgery on dogs. So, they are all set up to take the first of the dogs that need heart surgery. It’s an organization that is already doing great work, and one that has lots of love to share. It’s really hard to find an organization that does this sort of work, so it’s such a blessing to see the great work they are doing.

It’s been a busy week in the Swiss Mountn Dog Rescue. The group has found homes for over forty dogs. We also have a couple of puppies, both of which will need to be evaluated by a veterinary specialist. One of the puppies has a severe eye condition and the other needs heart surgery. We have a very great team of volunteers who do great work.
The group has some amazing volunteers. I can’t list them all here because I don’t have room. However, I will say a few names so you can follow them. We have a couple of volunteers who do heart surgery and work on dogs with vision issues. We have a volunteer who helps with a volunteer group in the Swiss mountn region that looks after dogs that have been abandoned by their owners. We also have some amazing foster volunteers who help take dogs into their homes. There are a few of these volunteers, and they are all amazing people. I hope to be able to visit one of their homes very soon!
I’m happy to be able to share that the group has been getting good news about the dogs that are in the shelter. We’ve recently moved several dogs out of the shelter, and they all went to a wonderful new home. We’ve also been able to find a couple of wonderful new homes for some of the dogs that are still in the shelter. I can’t tell you how much joy that brings to me!
One of the puppies from the group went to a new home in the US. The dog was in really bad shape when he came to the rescue. He had an extremely severe eye problem, and he also had some heart problems that had to be treated. His heart was fling badly, so it was likely that he would only have a few months to live.
The puppy had to be treated at a vet clinic in Germany. The vet told his owner that she could not treat the puppy in her clinic, so the owner brought the puppy to the clinic where I was working. The puppy got his heart treatment, and I know that now he is completely healthy and is ready to go to a good home. He’s so happy!
I know that this is a difficult time for many of you who are parents of rescue dogs. It’s a huge relief to know that the dogs we have been helping are in great homes. We have also been able to place several puppies with some wonderful people. They all seem happy and excited about their new lives. It’s been an exciting week.
I just want to leave you with this thought. If you have ever lost a family member, whether it was a dog or not, it is really hard. One of the hardest things I think I’ve ever had to do is to have to let a family member go. The group I work for has been doing this for more than ten years. We have adopted out over four hundred dogs and have brought in many more. It is one of the most rewarding things I have ever done. When you lose a family member, it is really hard. It doesn’t matter what sort of animal it is. If you lost a child, you know what I mean. You want so much to save them.
It is a real blessing for us to have found these wonderful homes for so many dogs and puppies. I want to let you know that, for each of the dogs that we have helped find a new home, you can send one of these beautiful Swiss Mountn Dogs to a good home. You can do this by clicking here. Every dollar you send goes to the group.
I just had the best eml from the Swiss Mountn Dog Rescue today. The good news is that one of our dogs has found a wonderful new home! We have a few more dogs still up for adoption. If you are looking for a dog, please let me know. My eml is at the top of the page. You can also follow the group on Facebook and Twitter.
